Poster submissions allow the presentation of in-progress work, where work has reached a level of maturity that makes it valuable to present to the NordiCHI community, but is not yet fully formed (e.g. a novel interactive technology that has been designed but authors are still trying to understand how to evaluate it, or an in-depth study on smartwatches where only preliminary results are available). Whilst work may not be completed, it should still make a clear contribution to broader HCI knowledge, whether realised or promised. Posters present a valuable opportunity for long, in-depth face-to-face discussions on the work, in a way not possible with papers. We welcome posters where the work and authors will benefit from this interaction, such as those reporting late-breaking and cutting edge work, emergent new technologies, preliminary and on-going work, in any of the conference themes. We particularly encourage submissions related to the conference theme of ‘Game-Changing Design’. In addition, we discourage submissions of fully completed work that would be more appropriate to submit to a fully refereed venue such as papers or notes.
Poster submission content
Submit a 4-6 page description (including references) in the SIGCHI Extended Abstracts Format (2018), including a brief description of related research, and a clear description of the work along with future work plans. Submissions should be as close to camera ready as possible, including names and affiliations. only very minor changes will be allowed after acceptance. Authors should also submit a draft version of the poster to be presented at the conference as a pdf (maximum 30MB) in A1 format. Please note at least one author of each accepted poster will be required to attend the conference and present it. Failure to do so will mean the poster being removed from the proceedings and the ACM Digital Library.

Posters at NordiCHI’18
We aim to have the posters visible on all days of the conference at the conference venue. Poster authors are expected to be present at their poster during a dedicated session. Poster presenters need to print their poster themselves, as well as attach it to the poster wall as instructed before the conference.
Poster selection process
To ensure we get as late-breaking work as possible, posters will be juried, so authors should not expect in-depth reviews. The extended abstracts of accepted posters will be included in the conference proceedings of NordiCHI 2018 and will be archived in the ACM library.
